This weekend marks the end of the PPTQ cycle that will feed the first Pro Tour of 2016. Which also means modern is on the way out as the de facto format. For some that’s great news, but there are others I’m sure who are dreading this Standard format.
But that’s not what we’re here to talk about! Lets take a look at this week’s store level events
Grand Prix Charlotte aka GPBacon is this weekend and I’m looking forward to it with a fierceness. Next weekend, there’s a pile of events with Two GPs, the return of the SCG Open Series in Indy, as well as a TCGPlayer 5K Open in Orlando.

Small meta update, I’m back to sorting Canada as part of their region–Generally North East, Great Lakes, Midwest, and North West. I’ve also moved Utah and Nevada to Southwest out of Midwest. Further, the Southern Region got a couple reassignments and now includes New Mexico, Mississippi, Oklahoma Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana.

I’ve been trying to get to this point for a while now, but here they are, next weekend’s events a week early. In theory this is what the weekend forecast was aimed at being. A look at what’s going on next week so that you can better plan your weekend excursions. Going forward, this will be the format with the [Podcast] recapping what is coming up for the current weekend.

This weekend has a surprisingly large amount of PPTQs considering the [Pro Tour] is going on, but here’s everything this weekend!
Also of note it is SCG States this weekend. Saturday events will be Standard and Sunday events will be Modern. The complete list can be found at [the event page] since it was near impossible to create any meaningful list.
Not a lot of big events this weekend, likely because of the Pro Tour. That said, there is SCG’s Double States weekend. With Standard on Saturday and Modern on Sunday, there’s gonna be plenty of Magic at your local shop.
There are two honorable weekend events on Monday and Tuesday next week, I wouldn’t have this posted by then, so I’m letting you know about them now!
